NO-O-O-O-O I love Bebe Moore Campbell. Her writing is awesome. I love her tales about growing up in Philly and coming back down South for the summer with her Daddy. This is so very sad. Fly with the angels, dear lady.
So terribly sad. And not to be tacky, but why is it always the BMCs and the Ellen Willis', when bastards like Strom Thurmond routinely roll into their fuckin' 90s?
i've never read anything by her, but i just checked out her wikipedia article... what a busy woman!
it really is a tragedy that someone that prolific should be lost before fully flowering into old age... she was doing literature, children's books, plays, and all of them successful.
bebe moore campbell rules. i had never heard of her before, but her book "your blues ain't like mine" was recommended by a professor in college...ripped through it like whoa. amazing, beautiful stuff.
Bebe Moore Campbell wrote some remarkable books. 72 Hour Hold is the best book on mental illness in the family. Insightful and kind, without being sentimental.
my apologies for coming so late to the discussion...but ohmygod. oh.my.god. today is christmas and i found out this morning that james brown died today. now this. i had no idea that she was ill. i'm shocked and deeply saddened.

I can't believe this. *shakes head*

You need to change the name of your blog. If you was truly angry then the rage should feed you.
Damn color me bummed! Why do people like her die so young and others like Cheney and Rumsfeld live seemingly forever? SHIT!

Maybe being an evil motherfucker keeps you young.
OMG - This is the first I've heard of it.
Y'all...my grandmother used to say that some people are too evil to die. It is beyond sad.
