This promises to be a rough, if not interesting, ride. I'm curious to see how it all plays out.

I'm finding it hard to predict how Republicans are going to act/react in the confirmation hearings, and outside of them. I suppose in a variety of ways, but it seems like their general response could either be muted (in resigned recognition that there's no winning this fight), or rabid, since that's just the usual Repugnican way.

I looked up her decisions to see how well they'd stood up, and thought, "Man, she's had a ton of reversals." Then I looked at the reversals to see how they split, and wouldn't you know it: 5-4, 5-4, 5-4, 6-3, 5-4.

This won't change the balance in the short term, but it may indeed add some needed perspective.

She'll be confirmed, not a question aat all unless she turns out to be a closet puppy torturer in deep hock to the IRS.

You have to give them credit for coming up with their brilliant plan for not alienating Latino voters while beating up on her: have the non-elected jackasses of the party paint her as a racist so she's easy to go after in the hearings. Of course, Gingrich calling her a racist is a little like him calling someone an adulterous motherfucker.

I think she will be confirmed. Now the next judge may face a tougher fight but W got two when he was massively unpopular.

ChristoperM, are you implying that Gingrich cheated on his wife with his own mother?

'Cause I can totally see that happening.
