The Smarties Situation...

A bitch just wanted to clear up some confusion floating around about Smarties and why my ass is always bitching about the lack of them here.

There are Smarties.

And then there are Smarties.

The yummy chocolate ones can not be found here...even though a certain Nestle company has a massive chocolate filled facility within the borders of St. Louis city. Don't ask...a bitch does not try to explain the illogical!

So...when a bitch writes about the absolute joy of Smartie consumption my ass is talking about these Smarties!

Sorry for the confusion, Blood Ray!

Now my ass is going to finish off this box of the real stuff and float off into bliss...

Where do you get them?

Good question! Everywhere but here! They are all over the place in Canada and several bloggers have pointed out that they are available in Germany too.

But Americans are Smartie-deprived.

It just isn't right!!

Whew...don't get a bitch started...

Oh ... well, hell. I wasn't thinking of those smarties either. I thought you meant the tarty ones. Thems pretty plentiful. The other ones? not so much.
So, durn, ABB.

Tks for setting the record straight.

Yes, thanks for the explanation. These Smarties you speak of seem much more exciting than the Smarties I know.

One mystery of life solved, about 6 million to go...

We have "your" Smarties in Sweden too. I believe the reason for not selling these in the US might have to do with allergies. Hey, the US is world famous for "If my cat dies in the microwave, I'll sue you for not warning me about it..." ;o)

ABB - how do Smarties differ from M&Ms?

Having not eaten
For well over twenty minutes,
The young woman was hungry.

She logged on to the internet
And ordered a stuffed crust pizza
With double pepperoni and chocolate,
French fries,
Seven toffee doughnuts
And a butterscotch milkshake.

Imagine her surprise,
Two minutes later,
When out of her printer
Came a small piece
Of lettuce
And a plastic cup
Of raspberry leaf tea.

I am in an online group and this year we decided to exchange Christmas cards. One lady in the group lives in Canada and with my card came some smarties. I am sure you know I ate the smarties before I even read the card LOL. So, I feel you on your lust for them!!

Ooh, Smarties. Those are yummy. But why are they not here? It comes down to this one little sentence, I guess:

"Smarties are manufactured in York, England."

Curses.

One of my favorite confections is a Yorkie bar, and you can't get those here, either....

THANK YOU for clarifying! Because I see those other Smarties all over the place. In fact, when I took my daughter to Chuck E. Cheese the other day, they were one of the cheapest prizes. And when I saw a tube of Smarties that some child had dropped in a filthy slush puddle in the parking lot, I thought of you, ABB. And I wondered why these poor imitations of Sweet Tarts were so coveted. Now that I know they're not the object of lust, I can rest easier.
