BlogHer ’08 & San Francisco Preparedness…

Lawd, have mercy!

A bitch just looked at my calendar and realized that my ass is heading to San Francisco for BlogHer ’08 next week July 18, 2008 through July 20, 2008.

Shit.

Okay, okay and another okay.

I need to get my preparedness together…stat!

And if you are in the San Francisco area and have a moment to spare next week come over and check out the panel I’ll be participating in What We Believe: How To Take Names and Be Taken Seriously as a Political Blogger.

I just love that title (wink).

Now, all a bitch needs is my Afro pick and a light sweater…

It's been pretty smoky in The City (lots of fires all over NorCal) so you may want to pack respirator masks, too. It may masquerade as the famous SF fog, but it is much much nastier. Sorry to welcome you to California with such yucky air.

A mask? Sounds like an experience I had while living in Dallas - fires from Mexico blew smoke into the city and this bitch sported a mask for days.

Blink.

Mayhap my bird flu fashion mask will work.

Mkali...
Well, shit. A bitch will just have to come back (wink)...

Have fun at drum camp!!

What an honor for our wee city to host a web luminary such as yourself! Despite the nearby fires and smog, be not fooled, it's COLD in these here parts. Better bring more than a light sweater to survive the freezing ass gusts of ice-mist that come rolling over the steep hills between lunch and dinner... if you're lucky it'll let up around 10pm and you can shed your parka. Please believe me. And don't bother checkin the weather reports because their guess is as good as anybody's what it's gonna be like from one hour to the next. For example: right now the weather report says 78 degrees in SF, but the thermostat outside my door says 59 degrees. My thermostat don't lie. Layers bitch, layers.

Oh goddammit to hell the registration's been closed for a week. Damn dammity damn damn damn!
Not like I could afford the gas anyway, but to have your Highness so close and not be able to genuflect in person just griiiiinds. Hope you and C enjoy my erstwhile home with A-B, ABB gusto. You MUST bring layers - it will get cold and windy from 4pm to freeze-your-ass. No joke.

Hey Mkali, glad I've given you two gifts that you still enjoy. Love, imperfect as it is, from the mountain.

Dang! I was sho looking forward to meeting a bitch--or at least sitting all star-struck in the audience--but I just can't afford it this time.

No matter what people tell you, Zuni is just aiight. The Slanted Door is the place to grub and almost anywhere in the Mission is good to get your burrito on. Avoid Fisherman's wharf and Pier 39. North Beach is all good if the weather's nice. Sit outside in the sunny afternoon, sip a vodka cran and eat some oil drenched olives from a small dish.

This is to inform you that I will be stalking you in San Francisco.

You know, so you don't freak out when I'm suddenly behind you with a pen asking if you'll autograph my martini glass.

I just commented above...but wanted to let you know that I just got an email from my sister that said:

"Can you please make sure you meet Angry Black Bitch at BlogHer this week? I found her on Bossy's Blogroll and couldn't resist the name"

So, watch out. You're going to have an AngryWhiteBitch stalking you this weekend...
