We shall not, we shall not be moved
We shall not, we shall not be moved
Just like a tree that's standing by the water
We shall not be moved
If they hang a thousand nooses from every tree in every state…we shall not be moved.
The union is behind us,
We shall not be moved
When they spray Jewish people’s cars with the symbols of murder, oppression and hate…we shall not be moved.
We're fighting for our freedom,
We shall not be moved
When they tell us to just be quiet, stop stirring up dust and that things will change eventually…we shall not be moved.
We're fighting for our children,
We shall not be moved
If they tell us that our voices lifted up in protest are too loud, our demands too liberal and our expectations too high…we shall not be moved.
We'll building a mighty union,
We shall not be moved
This is my country…I shall not be moved.
Black and white together,
We shall not be moved
The struggle is being fought for the masses…we the people, people…and we shall not be moved.
Young and old together,
We shall not be moved
Things will not be easy…but we shall not be moved.
One message was sent when our mothers and fathers sat down at segregated lunch counters.
Yet another was sent when The Man beat them for doing it.
Be strong and have courage.
Do not be moved.

Let the church say AMEN.
Right there with you Bitch.
I wonder, if at the next protest here in DC, if instead of all gathered at one spot (where we are contained and ignored), everyone spread out, and stopped everything from running, if that would make a difference.
thank you. i have been moved.
Sweet post Sharky -Fu. Truer words never spoken.

Thank you, Shark-Fu. I wasn't going anywhere anyway, but it was nice to read this, nonetheless.
We'll face some abuse in the short term, but history shall remember us well.
It is very impressive and a sign of great hope that the Jena 6 are not being ignored, that so many people have responded to the call.
Awesome. Simply awesome.
I hope, hope, hope you're right! Sometimes the way things are right now make me feel like Yeats had it right...
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
I loved this. As a college student, I am sometimes ashamed of myself and my generation. It seems as if we have not only been moved, but we've been completely out of the way! We are so accustomed to this world that we don't see the ways that we need to continue to change it! It is as if we're now blind to the 6 nooses at Central Michigan University, and at my school the Jena 6 is an unknown term. We are allowing the sexists and the racists stand and not be moved, when it should be us!
GOOD POST! I'm inspired to inspire...
