Jena 6 Documentary on CNN tonight...

CNN will be premiering a one-hour documentary tonight at 7 p.m. CST (8 p.m. ET) CNN: Special Investigations Unit – Judgment in Jena.

I plan to watch it tonight.

Please let me know if you are able to catch it too and what your thoughts are!

I saw it and I'll probably end up blogging about it.

I watched it and it was what I expected. A majority of the white people in Jena don't see a problem. Only the reverand was willing to say "Yes, race is an issue in Jena, LA."
I don't think I learned anything new. I don't believe they covered what happened with group of white kids who beat up the black kid (I may have missed it). What I find most troubling is how much the MSM is leaving out of their reports. Most news organizations seem unwilling to lay out the whole story but only the most controversial points.

What did you get from the CNN program?

I missed it, but I've been catching a lot on youtube. And tho I haven't mentioned anything on my own blog about it, me and my #1 sistah girl, MzMo' did wear black on Thursday.

I thought it lacked depth in part because it was a one hour show that could have used two or three hours.

Soledad O'Brien covered it later on CNN during 360 and she was able to get more detail on how the age of the three white teens who hung the nooses was a contributing factor in them not being charged.

But the MSM is lagging behind the blogs on this story and having a hard time catching up.

Karmen, no group of white kids beat up any black kid. I saw a commenter on another blog say the same thing... Didn't happen.

If it did, that beaten-up black kid would be all over cable TV.

Nothing equivalent to a six-on-one beatdown happened from the white side. So at least get straight on that.

Please-lets do get straight on this...just for the record
Robert Bailey (one of the Jena Six) was jumped and beaten by three whites (2 adults 1 jv) the Friday night BEFORE the fight at the school. The fight occured at "The Fair Barn" at a party given by some white kids. Robert Baily and his two fiends had been invited. It is not believed that they were invited to be beaten. The next night Robert Bailey as was leaving the 'Gotta Go" convience store with two friends one of the adults that had beaten him the night before was in the parking lot of the store and pulled a pistol grip shotgun on the boys) according to all eyewitness statements there was no provocation. The boys wrestled the shotgun away from the adult and left. The three boys were later charged with felony theft of a firearm and the charges are still pending.
