Jena Six Update…

A nod of the Afro goes to David Bowie who donated $10,000 to the Jena Six fund.

A bitch urges everyone to wear black tomorrow (September 20, 2007) in solidarity as the people unite in Jena Louisiana and around the country to protest unequal justice and demand freedom for the Jena Six.

Check out Michael Baisden’s site for information and other ways to support this movement.

And take the time to tell your family, friends and co-workers about the Jena Six.

I am still embarrassed for my Country that this happened in the first place.

This is 2007, not 1807. It is time for everyone to get with the 21st century program already.

Bitch on!

I agree that the boys who hung nooses need to be charged with and prosecuted for racially motivated threats of murder. You are absolutely right, that only means one thing. It's not a political philosophy, it's not a free speech issue, it's a threat of hanging. I agree that the Jena 6 shouldn't be charged for attempted murder; they beat a boy up for saying the word "nigger." They should be charged for fighting: assault, it's a misdemeanor.

However, as long as the rallying cry is to "Free the Jena 6," I will oppose this movement. I do not appreciate the sentiment that the Jena 6 should not be punished for a assault just because they're black. If you want equality, demand equality. What you're demanding when you say "Free the Jena 6" is violent black supremacy, i.e., blacks should have the special reserved right to take the law into their own hands and beat the hell out of any white who dares say the word "nigger".

I think that this nation still has a long way to go towards equality for black people, and I am willing to stand with you and fight with you for that equality. But if you think these boys should go unpunished for their violence just because they're black, and that their crime was okay just because the victim was white? I turn my back on you.

I tend to agree...except for the case of Mychal Bell who has probably served more time than he would have received for a misdemeanor.

My fight is for justice and equality.

I think its safe for you to turn back around...
