According to the term cloud, tag, folksonomy or whatever you want to call that bunch of words @ afronary.net, Jena is actually the most blogged about story. My system identifies more references to Jena for the past month than any other term in the blogs that I'm testing with.

Did you see Justin Barkers picture on Yahoo? How does someone get whipped on only one side of their face?????????????

My criminal justice students want to talk about Jena. My students are black, white, Asian, Hispanic and they see this not only as a racial issue, but as an abuse of power issue, injustice, and interestingly, the black students openly discuss this as their first real taste of what their parents and grandparents have been trying to tell them. One young African American woman, a police officers, told us she didn't know what a "noose" was until now. She said it just wasn't part of her consciousness and she was finally able to put history and reality together. This is a terrible incident but it is only what is seething under so much polite society. And my students are on top of it and educating each other and me about where we are. It is wonderful that they are comfortable talking about it, sharing their anger and fear. I admire my students and their struggle for awareness. My heart aches for the Jena Six but I am so excited at my students' quick grasp of the situation and their willingness to focus on reality.
The FBI has stated they think the hanging of the nooses in the tree was a hate crime..but the racists in Jena don't see it that way evidently.
No Justice in Jena..Bell is still in jail as of this afternoon, even though the courts vacated the charges against him.
"[Mychal Bell] beat his girlfriend so badly that her eye became dislocated from its socket."
This is why Bell's bond was denied.
