And now Missouri...

Clarification - The legislation mentioned below in no way currently impacts abortion and reproductive health services in Missouri. This shit ain't law yet and even if that asshole signs it there is a process through which it will be challenged.

For information, advice and options please check out Planned Parenthood/St. Louis Region.

A bitch wasn’t at all surprised that a Missouri senator filed some sort of bill to…you guessed it…ban all abortions in the state. Oh, wow...they worded it just like the bill introduced in Mississippi and the one passed in South Dakota!

Lawd, a bitch might start to think that there’s a conspiracy of sorts unfolding nationally...

For the love of all that is holy, this bitch is beyond disgusted. But shit, if things were the other way around and the Supreme Court had just seated two new fantastically left leaning liberals…well, a bitch would hope someone would introduce a Constitutional Amendment protecting a woman’s right to choose, mandating a national healthcare system to cover all Americans and specifically protecting the individual rights of children as citizens.

Guess it’s all about priorities, huh?

Fuck this fucking shit to hell and back again!

FUCK IT!

Shit.

What the hell can you expect to hear come out of a dawg...but a bark?

As a woman who often volunteers with women who have chosen to have a child…a child sometimes created through rape or incest…this bitch is left physically ill at the thought of government stepping into such a personal decision. The fact that they are doing it behind the cowardly distance of legislation is pathetic.

A bitch wants these motherfuckers to stand up…to look a woman in the eye and tell her that they are just absolutely right and she is just absolutely wrong.

Ready, set and go…again.

A bitch will keep y’all updated on what we can do and what The Man is doing.

God help us, but it looks like the states are starting to fall like dominoes. And here I thought most of the people freaking out about a Dominionist conspiracy were just wound a little too tight. Maybe not...

The anti-abortion legislation is probably going to spread like an epidemic... Since you know a lot on the subject, I wanted to ask you if it is possible for a woman to get abortion in another state (not it'd solve the problem) or if there are any legislation against that as well?

Since St. Louis is a border city (Illinois is just across the river) some women travel to Illinois for services. To my knowledge there are not any restrictions on going to another state...but attempts have been made to restrict minors.

A bitch fears this current effort will spill over to cover seeking care in other states as well as other countries.

ABB,

I believe under current Missouri Law, Matt Blunt can now come to your home and scold you, based on this post - as some might construe your comment above as aiding a minor Missourian seek an abortion in an adjacent state. I'm generally a non-violent person, but would pay good money to see ABB smack down Baby Blunt. :-) -J

Oh no...a bitch would NEVER advise women to check out the Illinois Planned Parenthood website at

http://www.plannedparenthood.org/pp2/ppeci/

and use their zip code locator to find clinics near the Missouri/Illinois border!

Never, ever, ever!

Nor would I give them the toll free phone number...isn't it 1-800-230-PLAN?...so that they could get information that way!

Goodness, no!

But if Blunt wants to tussle...we can go on and tussle (wink).

To make matters worse there is this companion legislative bill, House Concurrent Resolution 13, which proposes Christianity be Missouri’s official religion:

The resolution would recognize "a Christian god," and it would not protect minority religions, but "protect the majority's right to express their religious beliefs.
...
KMOV also contacted Gov. Matt Blunt's office to see where he stands on the resolution, but he has yet to respond.

Blunt's clan continues to legislate their hatred for women, blacks, gays, and now Jews, Muslims, or any other non-Christian.

Disgusted,

I was going to put in a request that ABB post on that one!

What is going on in Missouri? Remember just a few years back when we had a Democratic governor and lawmakers with a basic knowledge of the Constitution?

Digby at Hullabaloo has a post that exposes the extremely whacked beliefs of these Republican theocrats, The Sodomized Virgin Exception for abortion.

From an excerpt of a PBS interview by Fred de Sam Lazaro with South Dakota Republican State Senator Bill Napoli:

FRED DE SAM LAZARO: Napoli says most abortions are performed for what he calls "convenience." He insists that exceptions can be made for rape or incest under the provision that protects the mother's life. I asked him for a scenario in which an exception may be invoked.

BILL NAPOLI: A real-life description to me would be a rape victim, brutally raped, savaged. The girl was a virgin. She was religious. She planned on saving her virginity until she was married. She was brutalized and raped, sodomized as bad as you can possibly make it, and is impregnated. I mean, that girl could be so messed up, physically and psychologically, that carrying that child could very well threaten her life.

I highly recommend reading Digby's complete post.

I'm not up-to-date on this, but the last time I looked I think some states may have imposed some restrictions for out-of-state residents, so it's best to check first. Always bear in mind that if the anti-choicers can think of any way to make getting an abortion more difficult, they have probably tried it in your state, and may have passed it in some states.

It is my hope that your readers exercise their right to vote and support individuals that have their best interest at heart. I volunteer for a pro choice candidate in North County. Ingrid Owens has been very involved in fighting for womens rights and choice issues and she is a strong, and hard working black woman. Check her out at www.ingridowens.com

Well, I entered this site assuming I would run into some intelligent people but as the old saying goes "Assuming makes an ass out of you."

You people here are just what the name says- dumb ass bitches. How could you sit there in your little computer chairs and write on one page about how you think women should have the right to have an abortion, then turn to another page and start ranting about the woman in the news who just hung her 3 children?????

Guess what dumbass- ABORTION IS MURDER!!!!! I don't know if ANY of you women have ever had children but I am having my second one and I'm here to tell you that this baby inside my stomach IS ALIVE!!!! I can feel her kicking me EVERY DAY, I hear her heartbeat at EVERY doctors appointment, so what the hell is the difference between aborting your baby and murdering it??? I'll tell you what- absolutely NOTHING!!!!!

Now think about this: Would you feel the same way if your mother had aborted you?!

Dear pissed...

In order of inaccurancy...
1. The name of this blog does not include the word dumb, honey.

2. Abortion is not murder.

3. I have never written about the mother who hung herself and her children.

4. Something that doesn't exit can't feel a motherfucking thing.

Thanks for sharing!
