Tired as a motherfucker...

A bitch is fried...and not in the yummy breaded way.

Shout out...
Okay, so a bitch has to give some love to my girl Laura for mailing out a check to the Southern Poverty Law Center in the amount of $100 today. A bitch loves you more than frozen margaritas on a hot day, Laura Lou!

Blog for Choice...
This bitch is breaking with tradition and blogging this Sunday! My ass is participating in Blog for Choice Day this Sunday. Keep in mind, a bitch has to complete my Sunday ritual of watching political chat shows and consuming mass amounts of cheesy eggs, fried potatoes and coffee.

But a bitch shall post immediately following said ritual!

Toodles for now...

There are many more worthy civil rights charities than the SPLC, which seems to have forgotten its mission.

Good luck with the blogging on the 22nd!

It's a good cause, for sure!

I have so many stray thoughts on the topic, I doubt if I could fill an adequate post for it all without sounding chaotic and disjointed; yet, I'll list my thoughts herein for you ABB...

In sum and substance, my opinion is, Lord Jesus! I hope I never will walk in those heavy shoes, the shoes of a woman who has made the decision to terminate for whatever her reasoning may be; however! I do hope that IF that day ever does arrive for me, I hope that I would still be able to make that choice for me.

Personally, I think politicians getting their greasy fingerprints all over this issue is problematic on so many levels. A

Level 1 would be that I perceive it all as a big smoke screen or diversion for us to take our minds off other issues (e.g. the war in Iraq, or the shameful poverty which exists in our country); and

Level 2 being yet one more reminder that no matter how far we believe we have come, or that women can relax a little on the idea of equality, women are still considered property or chattel, not fit to be in control of their very bodies.

Until or unless the ERA is passed, and we are afforded true and FULL EQUALITY, I fear the abortion issue will continue to be the lightning bolt unifying "women's issue," when there are so many more issues upon which we SHOULD be focusing.

maybe you could say something about how the new york times had two (obnoxious, measured, misinformed, whatever) editorials about roe v. wade today, and both were written by men.
