Excellent choice. I think you'll be surprised at how 'intuitive' the new machine is. Macs are fun to work/play with and you won't have any problems with viruses. Everything just runs better - without crashing.

Welcome to the land of Macintosh. I just got a new 20" iMac (also with a built-in camera) so we really must video chat now.
You do still need to set up some security. Especially if you're using Entourage (Outlook for Mac).
Consider Brickhouse, which is a firewall shareware app: secure, easy, and cheap.
Also consider using Firefox (if you're not already) and NoScript to avoid Java hacks.
But most of all, enjoy your Mac. You'll never go back.
On random thing: You may not know that holding the command key and clicking will 'mimic' a right-mouse-button click (eg open up contextual menus). Many new users seem to miss this part.

You will love Mac. Mac is for creative people. Next you have to get a digital video camera so you can edit your footage on iMovie, add a soundtrack and then burn multiple DVDs for all your friends.
