Pondering Dickey C.’s reflections…

Oh, I’m all alone now
No love to shield me
Trapped in a world
That’s a distorted reality...

This bitch caught the teaser segment on ABC News this morning for Vice President’s Cheney’s exclusive reflection-based interview that the network appears to be spreading across their entire news line-up for all its worth…and Reflections by The Supremes popped into my head.

Sigh.

Dickey C. is reflecting on his eight years in office and laying claim to the policy of torturing terror suspects, saying that…wait for it!!!...9/11 has been his prime motivation for most of the programs the administration gave a green light to.

He went on to add that 9/11 changed him and his thoughts on what was appropriate to do in defense of the nation.

Blink.

And a bitch can’t help but wonder at that admission and Dickey C.’s apparent inability to see in the mind of the other the same logic he’s tossing out in his own defense.

Fear…the natural instinct to protect family and home…the willingness to go beyond the borders of previously held values because you believe the enemy has no values or limits and is capable of anything and everything…all that has been used to justify all manner of atrocities since humans stood up and built a fire.

But that don’t make it right.

Sigh.

Damn if this isn't an example of how easily those in power fail moral tests and how all their justifications fall apart in reflection...

...where a glance at the mirror reveals the monster you fear most staring right back atcha.

And the whole world was watching.

The whole world was watching...

And never mind that Dickey C. was drawing up the blueprints for this rancidity as far back as '97. 9/11, he says? A convenient excuse.

I guess I was still a tad groggy when my eyes caught the lyrics and then ol' Dick's name. DOUBLE BLINK!!! No freakin' way that brick-brain has that much introspection and honesty. BUT, I'd like to hear him sing "Baby Love" or "Love Child" come on!

Lying to the end . B@$$(@&#! He's been after most of this since the '70's . Sept. 11th was just a convenient excuse. Sheez! The illegal wiretapping started in February '01 , if not sooner . The theory behind it goes back to the Nixon Administration .

"dick has done no more than any other vp" ? =))))))))))))))

Even he wouldn't agree with that, and there's a big difference in the nature of their pet projects. Torture vs Everglades restoration? Millions of felonies vs more responsive , and cost effective federal agencies* ? etc, etc. Yep, perfect equivalence .

(* My personal experience with Gore's ideas: a change in landscaping a fedral buildings, from yearly, expenmsive, high-maintenance annuals , to a one-time , low-maintenance , planting largely self-perpetuating perennials and shrubs )

Dickey C don't care. 8 years later and he done stacked some mad cash while Bush was in office.

He can probably leave office and die nicely and of old age...ok well just nicely. He's already got the old part locked down.

Empty Suit- You're kidding right? Are you really going to justify Dick Cheney's acts? Really?

9/11 was like Christmas for Cheney's neo-cons and their Project For a New American Century. I guess it's not too surprising that he's still trotting that out as his justification for being complicit in the completely amoral and short-sighted fucknuttery that followed, but the fact is 9/11 didn't put a single item on his agenda that wasn't already there.
