Update...

Thank you to everyone who has offered well wishes and encouragement!

Y'all are the best of the best.

I spent the day with Bill and he's doing amazingly well, despite his battered face and all those bruises (wince).

Oh, and he is a wee bit pissed at me for showing up without pizza and pop and ice cream and more pop.

Blink.

I was going to write something up about Michael Savage being a knavish tool who needs correction...lots and lots of merciless correction...but I just spent the day with a living example of just how wrong Savage is on autism.

At the moment all I can come up with in response to the notion that my brother has been acting out and being a brat for 38 years is an invitation to Michael Savage to kiss my black ass.

Toodles!

Savage (Michael, not Dan) can kiss my white ass, too. In fact, he can kiss a multihued rainbow of asses. So much ass that he'll wonder where one ass ends and another begins!

Your post reminds me of how many people are in a constant state of flux and disarray -- it is the feeling of "I got my shit together" that is fleeting. I know I'm feeling it in my life so I've got empathy for you in yours. Here's to some serious mojo in your dojo (and ups to Billy Dee Williams, if also downs to AT&T).

Peace and love, sista Shark-Fu.

I needn't have a name; only love.

Shark, baby:

I'm sorry to hear about your brother. I know what it's like to be a caretaker for someone who can't readily express their feelings. My mom had dementia the last years of her life, and I was her primary caretaker. I'm with you in spirit.

In the meantime, stay grounded and make sure you do something for yourself.

Peace and Blessings,

Deedlelee

I second and third (and forty-fifth) all the love and well wishes for you and your sweet brother. Who knows why these things happen but I do hope that you all come back from it (esp Bill) easily and with peace.

Love and stuff from your snarkypants sister,
Lisa

Michael Savage can kiss my mother-of-a-sensory-disorder-having-
child ass, too. We family members of quirky people need to stick together. If he thinks people with autism are just brats who are faking it, lord knows he probably thinks my kid is nothing but a class-A drama queen.

Sorry to hear about Bill's spectacularly horrifying tumble but I am so so glad he is mostly all right. He is lucky to have a good sister to help him.

First, I have to say I'm so glad that Bill is okay. I remember how terrified I was when I discovered that my four-year-old can unlock himself from his child seat. Nothing happened, but it scared the living hell out of me. I can't imagine how terrifying it must be each time he has to be taken somewhere and the possible results. I don't have any advice or suggestions, just hope there's a way to work around this new behavior.

As for Michael Savage, I'm so sorry that raving assholes like him are given a microphone. But I'm adding my (oversized) chocolate brown ass to the list of the ones he can kiss.

Before Savage kisses your black ass may I suggest someone take his worthless ass out back and introduce him to the business end of a Louisville Slugger?

Now, now...he's not worthy of the bat and a bitch is trying real hard to maintain a non-violent reaction to trifling bullshit this year.

Savage is a moldy old douchebag who does nothing but throw spittle-flecked rants out in to the ether in hopes he'll attract some attention.

Thank God Bill is OK, and I'll keep him (and you, and C-Money) in my prayers.

I'm sorry I'm late to sending my best wishes to Bill and to you, but best wishes. I'm thinking about you both, and I'm so glad he's doing okay.

Thank goodness I wasn't born into any one of your families. God forbid I go through a blue mood or don't have a government approved personality, you would pump me full of psychotropic drugs faster than a Nazi doctor in a concentration camp. Savage's entire point was that too many children are becoming victims of the "big drug" companies ( you flaming liberals should appreciate this) and that many children are being permanently damaged unnecessarily.

You ignorant fuck.

The only meds my brother is taking are for the pain he is enduring because he was just in a fucking car accident.

And worry not - the last thing my family needs right now is a crazy motherfucker who speaks before thinking.

Now get thee gone...

SharkFu, Michael Savage does not deserve to be adjusted by the merciless rod of correction at the hands of her worshipfulness. . . I on the other hand have been a very bad boy.

You are apparently not alone with regard to Michael Savage . . .

Rep Mike Doyle (D-PA 14) and Rep Chris Smith (R-NJ 4) are co-chairs of the Congressional Coalition for Autism Research and Education, and they are not at all pleased.

Check out the story in The Hill: Doyle wants Savage off the air over autism rant .

It's a tasty read.

Just catching up on this story, and as a mother of one out of two with a handicap, I'm feeling your relief. I don't know why so many people think certain handicaps can be "talked out" of.

There was a time when same flat-earthers hated left-handed people and tried to 'train' or beat those kids out of it and even accused them shit like being witches or possessed, when they were the ones possessed by deep ignorance and a lack of compassion. Screw 'em.

KIT, as a left-handed person (hmm - person of left-handedness?) I can attest to the fact that I am, indeed, full of the devil... he he he.

As for Mr. Savage, no need to correct. The Universe has a sense of humor, and will take care of it at some point.
