Homeland Security, my black ass…

First, this bitch will post about fundraising events in St. Louis for hurricane relief this afternoon.

Shall we begin...?

His Pontifical Greatness, Brother Rob Thurman and this bitch are calling for a revolution.

A bitch is so mad…so angry…so frustrated and disgusted that it’s probably not healthy. Fuck it.

Settle your asses down, chil’ren. A bitch has some serious shit to say.

In 2004, the majority of Americans (or so they say) voted Scooter in for a second term. Scooter’s campaign was planted firmly on the foundational ass of “family values”. Now, as America witnesses those values in action, this bitch is going to go the fuck off…

ABB’s Indictment of those who voted for Scooter…

While you embraced a policy of marriage exclusivity and encouraged your government to spend tax dollars to pay for…well…the promotion of marriage exclusivity, the levee remained unprepared and the poor unprotected.

While you embraced a policy of preemptive war in the face of overwhelming evidence that American was not threatened by Iraq…the fucking levee’s problems went unaddressed and the impact of abject poverty was ignored.

While you sank time, money and energy into campaigning for a man who has more money than Gawd, Gawd’s children lived in a city with a fucking ticking time bomb otherwise known as a levee in need of some fixing. How many chil'ren could you feed with the dollars you spent on those W'04 stickers?

While you pontificated about an “ownership society”, Gawd’s children struggled in a society where they own nothing.

These are your family values? Does this, in any way, mirror the teachings in that bible you utilize to pass judgement on others? Well, judgement goes both ways, motherfuckers. Here's a healthy dose right back atcha! The poor are dying. The weak are unprotected. A bitch feels the Devine One’s displeasure and my ass wants to weep.

Your apathy and indifference makes me sick. Your current shock at the manifestation of anger brought on by decades of greed and oppression makes me want to vomit. My head hurts and my soul burns.

A bitch indicts you! A bitch has judged you! Shame, shame and double shame.

To the politicians who say this is not a time for politics…there has never been a better time for Americans to examine their actions, their vote and their government. If my ass worked at McDonald’s and the shift went to shit you had better believe that fuck up would be examined in real time.

To the Americans who waxed on about their willingness to relinquish fundamental civil rights to the Department of Homeland Security…do you feel secure now? Was it worth it? The DHS can’t even secure New Orleans…but they can seize your medical records, your library records, enter your home and search it without cause and detain you indefinitely without charges. Again, was it worth it motherfuckers? Answer me! Because my ass sure heard from you shits when you were ranting about Scooter being the "right man for the job".

The President addressed the nation this morning and said

"We are making progress.”

Are we?

“We are putting a plan together.”

Just now? Nothing on paper ahead of time?

“The response has been inadequate.”

No shit.

To my beloved fellow chil’ren…a bitch lives in a two-river town and a state that has been dodging a monumental earthquake for 100 years. Your government will not be prepared. A bitch has put together the following recommendations for the chil’ren…

ABB’s Department of Bitchitude Security...
Vote…register others to vote…volunteer at the polls…monitor your elected officials. Keep a copy of your local paper’s front page from today…blow it up real big and print it on a huge poster. Take that to the polls with you. The next time you see a W'04 sticker on a car, roll down your window and shout SHAME!

Store bottled water in your home. Have enough to last a month. If you do not have space, partner with some folks that live close by and maximize space.

Store canned food. Vegetables and other goods can be purchased in cans. Have enough on hand for a month. Calculate the number of people by a minimum of 2 meals per day.

Stock up on meds., first aid materials and any prescriptions…for a month. Get the shit online if you have to. People are dying from diabetic shock…may Gawd have mercy on us.

Stock up on pet food. These are also members of your family…get canned food.

Come up with an evacuation plan. Discuss it with your family and friends. Have a meet up point planned in advance. Have options and make sure everyone knows them.

Get a bike. Trust a bitch, get a motherfucking bike.

Get a weapon. A bitch hates guns, but my ass will have a baseball bat by sundown.

Get prepared and be proactive, because your government sure as shit won’t do it for you…

Now is the time to help our brothers and sisters in the Gulf. But don't loose sight of the fuck ups that exasperated this drama.

Remember and remind others.

Remember Katrina...

No matter where we live, we all should have an escape route. Plain and simple.

Additionally, it must be said that eventhough our "government" has not mandated we all go into "ration" mode, we must do what we can to live RESPONSIBLY.

Recycle where we can. Conserve our energy where we can. Turn out lights. Don't let your car idle waiting for someone. Open all your windows and rely upon Mother Nature for ventilation and cooling (where possible). Go up in the attic and check the insulation--insulate where necessary. Prepare for the cold, harsh winter which IS INDEED AHEAD... FOR ALL OF US.

Perhaps I am just jazzed up because I returned from Vermont, which I must say, has got to be one of the most forward thinking states I've visited, and one I would gladly consider retiring to.

Everything there is GREEN. Food bought at COOPERATIVES. Sustainable agriculture, organic this and that. Some might call it a CRUNCHY STATE. But it all makes sense in the long run, the BIG PICTURE.

When I went thru Church Street in Burlington, I always come across activists handing out pamphlets and informing folks of what is out there to get involved with. It was rainy while there, but there is a "store" which sells RESPONSIBLE things, and is associated with the Peace & Justice Center. If I lived in Vermont, I would be going to this place and signing up for SOMETHING. LINK: http://www.pjcvt.org/center.htm Apparently they have groups all over.

Nothing makes me more pissy than seeing someone in those "fuck you mobiles" Hummers, Escalades, Durangos and the like, with a "Support the Troops" sticker on the back. What do those vehicles get? Five miles to the gallon? What does anyone (who does not live on a FARM) need big honking vehicles like that for, other than a show of ostentatiousness? Granted we all are free to do what we WANT, however, shouldn't RESPONSIBILITY come into the decision making process? AT ALL?

It's all conflicted messages. Someone choosing not to smoke or drink, someone choosing not to consume or use something that knowingly causes cancer or blight, someone who recycles bottles and cans, someone who gives clothes to Good Will... yet, we ALL KNOW our soldiers are being put in harm's way UNNECESSARILY, yet despite everything else, that person chooses to buy and use a vehicle which we ALL KNOW is explotative and is energy INEFFICIENT.

My grandparents had to conserve energy and resources during WWII. Very few would say that the CAUSE of the war was not a good one. Sugar, coffee, butter... all were rationed goods. America pulled together and came up with ways around this (ever wonder how margerine or CocaCola cakes got their start?).

Yet, look around, there are still folks who are walking around as if life is a friggin' party, and acting as if thousands of our soldiers do not have their lives on the LINE every single day.

"Here endeth the rant."

ABB, I could literally FEEEEL you seething with anger and I am so right there with you and all the others who posted. Damn. I cannot believe this mess.

Did you guys see this from Kos (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/9/2/133252/4214)
----

They held back volunteers for the parade!

A friend of mine called this morning from Kentucky. A bunch of his buddies from a rescue squad went down to New Orleans with boats and trucks, etc. to help in the search. The FEMA guys wouldn't let them in telling them to spend the night with the rest of the volunteers in this staging area. They were told that FEMA was letting them all go in "together" in the morning (just as Bush arrived!). They were really pissed that they had to hang around all night while people were dying. They have boats that could be out searching for people. But instead they were kept for the "parade"!

And you know good and Goddammed well that's the truth. (BIG SIGH)

THANK YOU again, for telling the truth! The St. Petersburg Times (Sept. 2, 3005) quoted Bush as saying "I hope people don't play politics during this period of time." Bush knows damned well politics are going to play a part in this disaster. In 2004, the Bush administration cut funding requested by the New Orleans district of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for holding back the waters of Lake Pontchartrain by more than 80 percent. Additional cuts at the beginning of this year (for a total reduction in funding of 44.2 percent since 2001) forced the New Orleans district of the Corps to impose a hiring freeze. If that ain't politics, I don't know what is!

i read numerous articles yesterday trying to make sense of it all. clearly, that was an impossible task. my blood pressure elevated.
even fox news (bush family owned) couldn't cast w. in a good light.
"The president has wanted to visit the area as soon as possible," McClellan said. "We didn't go sooner because we didn't want to be disruptive of efforts on the ground."
--FOX news 9/1/05

did they just fucking say "disruptive"? how can your show of support and actually doing your job be disruptive? what's his big bullshit pledge of "protecting" americans really about? oh yes, rebuilding iraq, it's keeping us safe, remember?
i also almost shit myself when mcclellan mentioned "efforts on the ground". what efforts? minimal at best.
on the news last night, i saw n.o. police officers turning in their badges and rambling that they "were not going to risk being killed while offering aid". a huge WTF? i'm sorry, but when you take your oath, and put on that blue uniform, everyday you put your life on the line aiding others. IT'S YOUR JOB, MOTHERFUCKERS.
and the icing on the cake--supplies will trickle in until those pesky crowds simmer down. right. like starving to death while your sitting in your neighbors feces will allow you to remain calm.
i still haven't heard from all my people in louisiana, and every hour i feel my heart break open a little more.

Hey ABB..

I totally 100% support you. "Family Values" is some circles means "middle class - republican white america." what a shame. Those who did not have are going without, what they really need. And I've pushed the racial issue on my blog. Because I think it is important.

The poor and the salt of the earth are not high on the "help immediately" radar. Most live below the poverty level, therefore, they government does not see them for the most part, i know this because PWA's in Miami lived and ran in these social assistance circles for many years.

And You know that when these people get out of the horror of this tragedy, they will go after Scooter... And I hope they take him down.

The response would have been immediate if a totally 100% white upper class american city was destroyed, but that was not the case, and the government Missed the Mark. And the dead will haunt Scooter for the rest of his life.

It is sad. Truly and horribly sad. My step mom is now in St. Louis with my step sis after evacuating New Orleans on Sat night... I pray for all of you.

The only politician I can see who is telling the God's honest truth at this time is Ray Nagin.

When I saw Bush in Mobile today and the general handjob that he and the governors were giving one another I thought "And still he's worried about appearances. He simply will not say 'We dropped the ball but by God we're picking it up now!'. He can't admit a mistake to save his soul.".

As for a plan to survive an earthquake or hurrican or other natural disaster, don't think that not living around an area prone to such things that you don't have to prepare too. All it takes is that fucking bird flu shit to make its way out of Asia and through Europe and you'll be in a world of shit soon enough. Prepare to save yourself because you can only count on yourself.

I'm so beside myself with grief and anger right now, I can't even post coherently. I'll leave it to Brother Rob and the ABB.

Where the fuck are we going as a country?
Who do we want to be?

Is it too late for us? I mean, really too late?

I'm in a mood so low, so evil, that it borders on despair.

(Sorry for posting again, ABB)

And, for GOD'S SAKE, get your own shit together and create a disaster preparedness kit. ABB's list is a good starter. It's a damn sight sure that we can't rely on our governement to do a Goddamn thing for us; it's every bitch for herself.

I'm only half-joking when I say we ought to look into some collective meeting-place to go to when the shit truly hits the fan, to pool resources and create a safe community.

As reported in the WaPo, despite the offer of aide in the form of boats, aircraft, tents, blankets, generators, and medical teams from over two dozen countries, the UN, NATO, and OAS...Scooter claimed in his interview on ABC. "I'm not expecting much from foreign nations because we hadn't asked for it...You know we would love help, but we're going to take care of our own business as well, and there's no doubt in my mind we'll succeed. And there's no doubt in my mind, as I sit here talking to you, that New Orleans is going to rise up again as a great city."

The aide offers from other countries have been kept on hold while Scooter and his Secretary of State Condi were busy vacationing. Scooter, imagining himself as Nero, spent time strumming guitar while NO drowns. Meanwhile, Condi decided to play Imelda Marcos and buy $1000 shoes in NYC and attend a Monty Python show, Spamalot, on Broadway.

Today, both distraught over the interruption of their well planned vacations, sought solace in photo-oppurtunities. Scooter found a sufferring black woman and her daughter seeking clothing to hug for the cameras before directing them to a Salvation Army Center that had ceased to exist in the storm. Condi spoke about ties to the Gulf Coast with her roots in Alabama before dragging herself into a staff meeting to discuss ways of coordinating offers of foreign assistance from more than 30 countries, none of which the State Department has accepted as of this time.

Steve Gilliard has a note to our conservative friends.

(ABB -- I hope this lengthy post does not offend and only informs. If it causes any problem delete it or let me know and I will delete it)

Steve Gilliard at The News Blog has an outstanding post this morning, which belongs on the front page of every newspaper, should be read during every Sunday news show, and deserves to placed in the Congressional Record despite or because of containing words of profanity that needs to be spoken.

I strongly encourage clicking through and reading the entire posting instead of just some of the excerpts, which follow.

We Told You SoEver wonder why New Yorkers detest George Bush?

Because we experienced his incompetence up close and person. We knew this guy was full of shit, absolutely full of fucking shit, after they started to play games with the funding and gave Wyoming terrorism money. We knew he was an assclown then.
...
We have been screaming for two years that Bush and his team sucked. That they had no clue. They sent soldiers to be wounded in Iraq without armored anything. And you idiots cheered him on from the safety of your keyboards. We told you he was fucking up Iraq. But no, we supported Saddam, we were racist, we blamed America.

You say this isn't about politics? Fuck you, this IS politics, real time, real life politics, where the insanity of all your ideas are exposed to the world for the fraud that they are. Tax cuts kill. Ask the relatives of the dead of the Gulf Coast.
...
Well, motherfuckers, and that means you, fat ass Goldberg and your master, Rich Lowry, PNAC Bitch Beinart, the racist wannabe white Malkin and the little fucktards at LGF, Bareback Andy and "Diversity" Instacracker, all you backstabbing, fag hating uncle tom ministers, you can see Dear Leader in action. America's largest port is gone, maybe forever, gas is $5+ a gallon and FEMA is coming. Whores come faster with old men than FEMA is getting to NOLA.

How did your wartime President react? Like Chiang Kai-Shek when the Yellow River flooded in 1944, with corrupt indifference.

Bush, the man your fever dreams built into the next Winston Churchill when he is really the live action Chauncey Gardiner, has failed to everyone, in plain sight, without question. Rick Perry is trying to save his ass, but it ain't working. NOLA looks like ANGOLA and that ain't flying.

Say 9/11 changed everything now, motherfuckers. Ooops, 9/11, 9/11. 9/11. Doesn't work anymore? Gee, maybe the sea of alligator MRE's once known as the citizens of New Orleans has something to do with that. Now you can shut the fuck up about 9/11. Bush just proved what would happen with another 9/11. Dead Americans as far as the nose can smell.
...
George Bush's ineptitude has killed far more Americans than Osama could have dreamed of.
...
You can't hide behind racism forever. Bush fucked up, Bush is a weak, callous leader and the world knows this like it knows few other things. And all the stolen TV's in the world cannot hide that.

Standing and SCREAMING with you about this whole situation. If I live in Las Vegas and know last SUNDAY that people that can't drive out of NO are told to go to the Superdome and Conv Center...how can the Director of FEMA say to me on TV on FUCKING THURSDAY that he didn't know there were people there?????? Why can they drop sandbags in the fucking canal and NOT drop palettes of water and food in the parking lot?

WHERE the fuck is CORPORATE AMERICA MONDAY? Why aren’t Budweiser, McDonalds and Wal-Mart DRIVING TOWARDS TEXAS with trucks full of WATER and FOOD to get in there after the hurricane goes over? I started bitching about this on TUESDAY on my blog!!

WHEN you KNOW a CAT 5 Hurricane is going to hit, don't you start DRIVING with supplies in that direction from the areas that AREN'T going to be hit? Vegas sent TWO --- FUCKING TWO -- Red Cross people out (BIG TV Coverage) on TUESDAY for a 30 HOUR drive!!!! FUCK ME!! WHY didn't the RED CROSS send 200 people out on FUCKING SUNDAY while CNN is giving us the tracking info?

If I can think about staging relief efforts on the Texas border before a storm I WANT a fucking job in FEMA and Homeland Security NOW cause I know dam well I can see what's coming at me and you!! Homeland is worried about my Terrorist Tits ( I blogged about THAT shit too) at the airport but doesn't see shit about to hit the fan in the Gulf Coast? FEMA runs hurricane drills in New Orleans in 2004 and doesn't write up a fucking RESCUE PLAN?

Why are indivdual rescuers and Ham Radio Operators kept OUT? I AM SO FUCKING DONE WITH PAYING THESE PEOPLE TO DO A JOB and it NOT GETTING DONE!! PEOPLE ARE DEAD because of them NOT DOING THEIR JOB. (Mangement NOT the rescuers).

And concerning your own escape plan, please send a email to a nujmber of friends with everybody elses name and address and phone and email. As a single person, my friends in New Mexico don't know my friends in Washington. So if/when we get nuked here in Vegas and I have to get out. The EMF's will fuck up all communication. So my friends in other places should know which way I might be heading and who they are to each other. And I should have a driving plan on how to get out of here, because obviously, FEMA and Homeland aren't gonna help for at least one week!

Also, email pics of importance to your friends for them to hold on their computer if yours gets trashed. I keep seeing all those poor people going back for pictures of family. Get copies of them out of the house for someone to hold for you.

Concerning money and online banking, my friend in Baton Rogue said she can't do her online banking because her bank was destroyed in New Orleans. So, don't have everything in one bank and know how to get money and pay bills NOT online if you have to.

Blessings to all in this shared misery and especially those who are suffering in any way from this storm. My heart is just SCREAMING and breaking for all those people. Knitting Bloggers raised over $100,000 for the tsumani in one month and we are well on our way to working on topping that for our FUCKING FELLOW CITIZENS WHO ARE DYING OUT THERE!!! As of today, we’re at $32,000. I have links to a few of the blogs from my blog. There are two bloggers that are doing the efforts this time around if you're interested. You don't have to be a knitter.

ABB--Raising my ICED coffee to you!! Don't STOP RAISING YOUR VOICE!!

I am also profoundly angry and depressed over what’s happening in the southeast, although I do feel like ultimately something wonderful will rise from the waterlogged ashes of Katrina. Due to the lack of response of our “elected” officials, I sense the winds of change starting to blow in this country, and for the first time I am actually feeling somewhat optimistic that the long night of the Repuglikkklan thugs may be drawing to an abrupt and well deserved end.

Bush has asked that the American people do whatever they can to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. (Obviously because he is incapable of mustering any sort of coherent response whatsoever.) Ok, fine. No problem! My suggestion? STAND UP AND CALL FOR THE IMPEACHMENT OF HIS WHOLE FUCKING ADMINISTRATION, STARTING WITH HIM FIRST!

Hey, ABB, you are not exactly correct on the NO story. New Orleans received money from the Govt. several years back to repair and reinforce the levees. But, they decided to invest in Casinos, etc. instead of using the money for the original purpose. This story came directly from people that were living there when the money was received. The individuals I got this story from had dinner on many occasions. They were also on a first name basis.
I guess we will never know the truth but we do know that this is a Federal, Local and State issue for Lousiana. It may never be resolved to be honest. Maybe a whistle blower will come forward and give us the Low Down.
