On that ig'nant as hell Louisiana judge or why I need a lifetime supply of Excedrin Racial Tension Headache meds…

Pause…stretch…begin.

A bitch received tons of emails requesting my thoughts on a certain ig’nant judge in Louisiana who refused to marry a local couple (one man and one woman…says so on their birth certificates!) because the one man is a person of color and the one woman is white. The judge has not backed down, claiming that he is not a racist because he has allowed people of color to use his bathroom…and that he did it out of concern for the couple’s future chil’ren.

Blink.

Governor Jindal has called for the judge to get the boot.

What a difference 40 plus years makes, huh?

I mean, socially accepted shit that seemed so crucial when done back in the day can make folks wince and instinctively jump up in protest when done in the present day.

That’s something to think about…since the issue of who should be allowed to get married and the argument that chil’ren may be harmed is still on the table for thousands of LGBT Americans.

Cough.

Anyhoo, this bitch is going to focus on that 'I've let black people use my bathroom' bullshit today.

Shark-Fu’s Official Statement on People Who Work a Nerve Saying Ig’nant Shit that They Mistakenly Believe Makes Them Look Good or At Least Not Look Ig'nant on the Issue of Race…

For the record…

1. Sharing with me that the maid your family employed in your youth was a black woman...
2. Tossing out examples of when you didn’t fired a person of color for acting uppity…
3. Confessing that you adore that Prissy from Gone with the Wind but you sort of feel guilty about that…
4. Admitting that you still watch Seinfeld and just love that wacky Kramer…
5. Telling me that African babies are just so darn adorable you wanna adopt every single one of them and take them away from "that place"…
6. Admitting that you once took a person of color home to meet the family (when you were at college, natch) because you’re not like [insert Archie bunker parent]…
7. Or citing your childhood nanny of color who was…wait for it… "just like family”…

...Lawd have mercy…introducing that shit into a conversation/debate/discussion is not the way to make the case that your ass has done the inner work to get progressive on race.

Just like offering up that he let black people use his bathroom (a bitch suspects that he threw away the towels and had the little woman wipe the place down with bleach after) is not proof that the Louisiana judge who refused to marry that couple is not a racist.

But that shit is very helpful to this bitch as I make the case for immediate mass production of Excedrin Racial Tension Headache meds

You know, I think this guy is possibly more stupid than the Archie Bunker character. I'm completely amazed...why would this asshole think it was ok for him to refuse to perform a marriage ceremony for mixed race couples? Then he compounds his assholery by making profoundly stupid statements. The mental darkness in which this idiot dwells is difficult to imagine.

Like I say, the judge was just trying to do their unborn kids a favor by making sure they didn't have to put up with racist assholes like himself.

I am being ironic. But it really is the 'logic' he used to try and defend himself. Like "Compassionate Conservatism", maybe he's going for "Komapssionate KKK-ism"

The best line I ever got was from a White guy who was trying to chat me up at a party in collge. He said I reminded him of the maid his family employed when he was a child. Perhaps noticing my reaction, he quickly said, "Oh, that's not an insult. I was crazy about her! She was my first sexual experience!"

Oh. Well, that changes everything...

Back in 1960 when I married, it was rough..ppl would not leave u alone on either side. Up until about the 80's, I didn't recommend anyone marry outside their race because u had to be tough to go thru everyday ignorance. We lasted for over 30 years before he passed and had 3 college educated kids. I asked them what they though of the Judge..all of them had the same comment: I don't need an ahole to tell me how to live! Thing is, there is still ignorance on both sides: they don't see love or decent human beings that raise their kids right, they see 'trash ass' & its hard to walk away from that...but I also don't believe anyone has the right to tell u who u can marry or have a life with.

Speaking of the "member of the family" maid — it reminds me of my wealthy and genteel Aunt from the south. When I was very young, on one of my visits, she told me her "colored girl" was coming tomorrow to clean. This confounded me, being a white girl from California with a wonderfully liberal mother. After finding out the "color girl's" role in the household, I asked my aunt her name and she DIDN'T FUCKING KNOW! I learned ig'nance at an early age. (Her name was Lee. I let my Aunt know in case she ever wanted to show her an ounce of respect).

As the white mother of three beautiful children of color I can certainly say that MY CHILDREN are better human beings than that piece of whatever he is is.

Hey Little Sister - you missed a few...

How much you like Dave Chappelle....

You listened to Motown growing up and wanted to dance like Michael Jackson....

You went to a school/camp with black kids (and perhaps even shared your lunch)....

You once rode in the back of the bus....

These just write themselves!

Okay. Gotta jump in once more. Family acquaintance said "I touched one once."
My brothers and I still laugh about that one . . .

Well, he does have a point. I mean, what can biracial children aspire to? It's not like they'll ever graduate from an Ivy League college, be elected Senator, become President of the United States, or win the Nobel Peace Prize.
I mean, really.
What an utter jackass and embarrassment of a human being that man is.

I wear my hair in a 'fro. Guy in my acting class commented "I like your hair, but no in a weird black way."

Do we make MFs nervous? Is that it? Why couldn't he just stop at "I like your hair"?
