I'm not from Ohio, but she was a favorite of mine, a strong voice in Congress and a shining example to women. She will be greatly missed. I'm imagining her watching this election cycle with Molly Ivins and Ann Richards.
This is a great loss for the US. While I disagreed with her in recent months, I really respected her and her work. She was a wonderful voice for Cleveland and working families in Ohio.
From Wikipedia, here's the greatest moment of her political career: "On January 6, 2005, she joined U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) in objecting to the certification of the 2004 U.S. presidential election results for Ohio." I gather her politics may have been, overall, a little too conservative for me, but no doubt she showed a strength of character that many elected officials so sadly lack.

She was also the first woman of color on the powerful ways and means committee.
Its a huge loss for our nation as well as her constituents.
