So was there an official Georgian-Russian cease-fire agreement or no?
A bitch is confused and I’m beginning to think The Man wants me to be.

It's a magician's trick. Keep your eye on that ball as they sail many ships toward Iran and one toward South America "for medical humanitarian reasons" and Kuwait remains on the highest military alert possible.
The cease fire happened yesterday. Sarkozy was in Russia, talking to the PM yesterday. After that, he went to Georgia. By the time he got to Georgia, it was already called by Russia. but supposedly, there's still a lot of fighting going on since Russia won't move their 'peacekeeping troops'.
Or at least that's what I heard on NPR.
I heard the same thing on NPR so I'm going to go with that for now.
The coverage of this is all over the place!
Makes a bitch wonder what's really going on...
Nothing like a good war to line up the sheep in an election season.
Watch BBC or NPR for your coverage. Stay away from the major networks which are massively underreporting the extent of russian aggression in Georgia. No idea why, but they seem to have some sort of agenda going.

Pick up a copy of "The Man Who Tried to Save the World" sometime. It's about Fred Cuny, a relief worker who disappeared in Chechnya in the 90s. Apparently that whole region is kinda schizphrenic in terms of who's shootin' at whom, when and where and why.
France brokered a cease-fire but the Russian troops in the field may not have gotten the word (or may have disregarded it, which apparently happens).
The distinction between war and peace is a bit blurred, safe to say.
Even Yahoo news, not known for its groundbreaking coverage, posted a quote of Putin saying that "You can just forget about Georgian border sovereignty." This looks like it's going to get even uglier.
Yeah. Putin. There's a motherfucker I would not want mad at me.
