Scary night! The power flickered out for a couple minutes about 3:35 AM and again some time around 4:30 AM. Fortunately, it came back on both times (I was awakened both times by an alarm from a battery backup power supply). My dad spent enough time at a cooling center in July and a warming shelter last month from power outages. I should have joined him last month, but stayed in the house to keep the pipes from freezing and the cat company.

I'm praying that I don't have my power knocked out for the third time in 6 months in miserably hot or cold weather.
