And away we go...!

Umm.

Okay, so a bitch logged on today to check out the rumor that Gov. Palin’s youngest child was actually her daughter’s child and…well, ummm...cough,

It seems that the rumor is not true…sorta-not true…no, no its not true...okay, the 17 year old daughter is pregnant.

As much as I’d like to take this moment to address the urgent need for comprehensive sex education in all schools…access to birth control and family planning for all people…and sti testing for the masses…I’m going to save that for later (wink).

Senator McCain’s camp has confirmed this story and they say that McCain was aware of the Palin daughter’s pregnancy prior to selecting Gov. Palin.

Daughter Palin plans to take her pregnancy to term…keep the baby…and, of course, man on woman under Gawd marry the baby’s father.

Meanwhile, GOP was set to get their convention on today and a Tennessee Williams play broke out up in the nominee’s campaign!

All this on the heels of Hurricane Gustav, no less…

…and this bitch is wondering when the rain shower of frogs within the GOP convention hall is scheduled to begin.

Blink.

Sarah Palin has too much going on in her family life to be VP.

Holy cow... When I heard this news I was stunned...

Are we in the twilight zone?

Let me get this straight- the ultra pro-life Republican VP pick has to debunk rumors that her 17 year old daughter is the biological mother of her 4 month old baby boy...

By announcing said daughter is actually 5 months pregnant with her own kid?

At 17?

Ahh... abstinence-only teaching at its finest...

Gulp.

OMF-ing G! Here I am worrying about hurricanes!!!!! I love this. The Republican VP, party of family values and abstinence only programs is now the poster child for the liberals!!! Either that or bring the white trash to the white house! (Opps, we already did that with "W")

News from Alaska, St. Paul, and Gustav all rolled up into one -- now that's the line of the day!

Not even her daughter's pregnancy would mean shit to those hardline conservatives.

Now if she was gay, and pregnant by her father...well...maybe then. You know how those repubs are with the gay scandals; especially the evangelicals.

The Lazy Iguana said...

A Republican VP with a gay child? You mean like Cheney? Yea, that would not matter at all.

I am a little bit confused here. OK A LOT confused.

How many babies are there? Is this the same as the Down's Syndrome baby, or is there two babies?

Also - I fail to see why any of this is an issue. Teenage pregnancy is a reality. It happens all the time.

This will/has been all spun to make her and her party look more compassionate, caring, forgiving, and loving. She not only carried her baby, but now her daughter will carry hers to term.

But seriously...

Can we address this abstinence-only education plan?

Man you bleeding heart liberal just abound here. What about Clinton wagging his finger at America saying he never had sex with that lady?? Talk about lack of morals you people got the handle on that market. Poor Hillary and all the women Bill is acused of molesting don't mean a thing to you do they?

God help me, but I love this. Sara Palin has a 4 month old child and will be the grandmother of a baby by her 17 year old unmarried daughter and she is the best pick for vice president by Sentor McCain. It took a hurricane to keep this off the front page. Senator McNasty claims he knew this going in. How stupid does he and the Republicans think we are ?

I honestly thought it was a joke when I signed on this afternoon. I mean, not Mother of the Year Palin.

I feel for the kid, but the GOP shoudln't have pimped this woman as some superior example.

Riddle me this: what would folks be saying if this were Malia or Sasha Obama?

Yeah, I thought so.

Shark-Fu said...

Well shit, I haven't been called a bleeding heart liberal since...well, since Clinton/Gore '92!

Wink.

Thanks for the ride down memory lane, anonymous!

But don't blame me when the sanctified moral police come a'calling.

Those are your people, son.

A bitch is just calling out hypocritical bullshit for the stank it is...

Let's hear it for John McCain!
His idiocy in vetting Palin is only surpassed by his general incompetence in everyday matters! Palin is starting to look like a political sociopath.
Sorry for her daughter though . . . .

I got it! I figure while we weren't looking the GoP held a reality show to pick a VP. She won on some sort immunity challenge. Meanwhile we were too busy with the Obama/Clinton debacle to notice...

What the hell is she thinking??? I am a single working mom and I have a lot of respect for working mothers but not this one...

She has a 5 month old special needs child at home and a 17 year old who is going threw the hardest time in her life.

This woman needs to get her own house in order before she joins the White House.

Then we suddenly shift from Tennessee Williams to Roman Polanski.

"Forget it, Jake - it's Chinatown."

I'm more than a little concerned that this story just plays into the hands of those who make women's reproductive choices -- be they wise or not -- a matter for policing. Whether she's used as an example of how messed up abstinence-only education is, or as an example of how a god-fearing young woman should redeem herself by marrying the dude who knocked her up, Bristol Palin is now a pawn rather than an individual facing some tough choices -- choices that have nothing whatsoever to do with her mother's fitness for the highest position in the land. (There are lots of other things, however, that call that into question, if you ask me ... but not her daughter's pregnancy.)

The terrible truth of the matter is she has exposed her daughter to every tabloid rag in the world without one thought for her well being. She's a desgraceful mother.

Hey Shark-Fu,

Palin's personal issues aside (although she want up in other people's business), the campaign has sent lawyers to Alaska in an attempt to stall or delay the results of the Alaskan legislature's ethics investigation into their Gov.'s conduct until after the election. Palin's attorney says that they don't want the person doing the investigation to turn into a Ken
Starr figure(of all the unmitigated, mfin gall!).

This proves 2 things.

1. Y'all know they ain't vetted a thing. Otherwise, this attempt to *reform* the reform efforts of the reformed Alaskan government would've taken place before McCain started bragging about how Palin kicked butt in the Alaskan government. It's never a good idea to brag about kicking someone's butt and ask them to keep spmething a secret. The buttkicked person is going to tell you no, and then tell your business. Palin must not be the *regular person* they made her out to be 'cause regular folks know better.

2. The republicans are at it again. Palin is nothing new or sparkly. Scooter, Karl, Dick, and Harriet don't think they have to answer questions either.

Good luck to Palin's family.

i'm distressed by the number of "she should be at home with the kids" comments.

if palin were a man, would anyone be suggesting that she should stay home with a new baby or with her pregnant 17 year-old? i don't think so.

she has a husband. perhaps the husband is doing some caretaking, eh?

Anonymous said...

I feel kinda bad for the daughter, cause you know that Palin and co are making her have the kid, keep it, and get married, no matter what she actually wants to do, just cause mommy is running for office.

Anonymous said...

Amen, you transported Midwesterner.

Something I just don't get - other than Scheudenfreude glee from the poorly raised, what exactly does her daughter's pregnancy have to do with Palin's political wherewithal? Does anyone represent their parents' values when they are 17? I know I sure didn't (and no, cough, I won't go into details....)

I am happily watching the polish come off the "fiscal conservative" gleam, and anticipating lots of enterntainment as the Hurricane that is the American Public and Media jump strap on the hip boots and jump into the muck that she seems to have made on parts of her career, but come on - leave the girl alone. If we don't take some moral high ground we're no better than the Limbaughs and Coulters, and I would rather slit my throat than be just like them.

That's not the point the point is 'practice what you preach'!! These are the SAME people who rail against teen girls of color having babies at a certain age and unprotected sex but when HER daughter does it it's 'admirable'?!! Bullshit I say so spare me this child obviously had NO family values because I was a black teen female once and would NEVER do what she has done. They should clean up their OWN backyards before lecturing others and I also agree about Clinton the Dems celebrate some sleazy folks too.

Unknown said...

Hmmm...doesn't look like Mr. "Alaska first!"/"First Dude" hubby's doing much caretaking. After all, in every picture found little Miss Bristol (daughter) is holder her, I mean her mama's (eh-hem) baby. Now, wouldn't that be the caretaking papa's job? Not if it's already been summed up as "women's work". Miss Bristol's gonna need a shite-load of therapy when alla this is through.

Two things I find interesting about this is 1. How Obama answered questions posed to him about the pregnancy. What a classy guy. He ended any discussion of he said, she said or any controversy that the media might have tried to spin or put words in his mouth. 2. How the media is spinning this or not spinning it. The usual double standard is at play, White teenager pregnant"girl who made mistake" black or any other color "a scorge, whore, a drain upon society.
I tell you this country!

Watched some of the republican convention tonight. It is as if they rolled out every old almost dying white person they could think of there was no energy in the whole place and lots of empty seats. damn if you can't even get your folks to show up for the convention...well you know the rest.

Everything these parties do is so carefully weighed and strategized, what are they really going for with this choice. they already had the crazy gun toting, evangelicals in pocket, what does this choice give them? How does it add to their bid for winning? I guess it is a deal for oil. This choice is beyond strange. I know the evengelicals will pretend this isn't happening and still vote with them bit still. When did I enter BIZZARO WORLD? I am trying to see the angel. Can anyone out there help me out?

Kit (Keep It Trill) said...

I don't believe her daughter is five months pregnant and explained why in my post today, A Rovian-Style Strategy. It's just too convenient in putting out the fire of that other rumor.

Trig isn't any 4 month old baby, he's said to be a Downs' syndrome baby. Raising such a child is very time-consuming in the first few years because early stimulation helps maximize a child's potential, and Downs' babies need much more active stimulation/exercise, etc, than average children.

So far as I am concerned, I don't care who is the primary caregiver, just as long as someone is paying a great deal of attention to Trig (and to Bristol). If it's hubby Todd instead of Sarah, fine.

Shit the angryblackbitch would be drawing her goverment money for the 5 children. She would have never attended the pta nor would she be married. She would have 5 different fathers that would have 0 influence on any of them. They would be living in a cabrini green type project in some yankee cesspool. They would however have a new car to spend their food stamps and a plasma screen and plenty of video games. No computers or books but maybe some copies of essence or some other rags.
