This groovetastic get up and stretch to the music blog-based break is brought to you by one tired as hell and stressed out bitch.
Thank Gawd for the music of The Five Stairsteps!
Ooh-oo child
Things are gonna get easier
Ooh-oo child
Things'll get brighter
Ooh-oo child
Things are gonna get easier
Ooh-oo child
Things'll get brighter
Go on, you know you want to sing this shit whilst laboring in your cube!
Some day, yeah
We'll get it together and we'll get it all done
Some day
When your head is much lighter
Some day, yeah
We'll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Some day
When the world is much brighter
All together now!
Ooh-oo child
Things are gonna get easier
Ooh-oo child
Things'll get brighter
Ooh-oo child
Things are gonna get easier
Ooh-oo child
Things'll get brighter
Right now, right now!
I don’t know about y’all but this bitch needed that.
We now return to our regularly scheduled bitchitude…

I believe that photo provides the very definition of "The Righteous Afro."
Moment of silence, please... Al Wilson passed away last night.
Thank you-much needed this morning-
What a great song. Got me through some nasty teenage hell. . .
I had a pair of pants just like the ones on the guy on the front right. . . 'cept mine were uglier.
oh...i needed that more than you know. thanks.
Oh the Five Stairsteps... I have their greatest hits. They have some nice jams on there too. They were not as uptempo as say The Sylvers - The mom named them that because they were literally stairstep kids...
Sweet.
Those lyrics are truly beautiful and inspiring. I wish I could be inside the head of the optimistic man who wrote them. I wish I could truly believe them. Thanks for sharing that one.
Everytime I hear this song when I watch "Crooklyn", I cry like a baby...
I needed to listen to it RIGHT. THIS. MOMENT.
This is my first visit to your blog, and I love your posts.
I just have to share something: from the time we were quite young, my best friend and I determined that "Ooh Child" by the Five Stairsteps was definitely a good luck song (for obvious reasons:) 25 years later, I am still very superstitous about the song. And you have no idea how much that post lifted my spirits, so unexpectedly :) Thanks a million!
