Okay, maybe a bitch is just having a Monday kind of Monday, but all this talk about Condi Rice being the dream candidate for Senator McCain because she’s a black woman is pissing me the hell off.
My ass needs to know if political talking heads are really trying to say that Condi Rice as a Vice Presidential candidate will automatically tilt some serious political scales because she is both black (how lucky of her…and me…and others ‘round the world...wince.) and a woman and everyone worth their bullshit knows that black + woman = political kryptonite!
Pause…listen to sound of crickets getting their groove on…continue.
Lawd, someone needs to tell Dan Senor (otherwise known as Campbell Brown’s baby’s daddy) that affixing a high profile conservative sistah to John McCain’s ass will not make his presidency a slam dunk.
A bitch will admit that there will be some black voters who, depending on whether and how badly the DNC fucks up in Denver, will be vulnerable to the seduction of the dark side…but Ms. Rice will have to campaign on her record of Bush adoration and there aren’t a lot of ways to dress up eight years of minion-hood to look pretty.
But the political herd has never been one to let reality get in the way of a batch of raunchy speculation porn.
Fuck it, after this primary season anything is possible.
And if you could look up Acceptably Black in a dictionary Condi Rice’s picture would be grinning back atcha…
Lawd, give me strength…

The Republican Party had a chance to have a black, a military officer, and a woman together on a Presidential ticket I'd think about voting for, until Colin Powell told them to get lost and Christie Whitman sucked up to Bush-baby. McCain-Rice doesn't even come close...
what a McCain/Rice ticket vs. an Obama/anyone ticket might do is make all the racists just stay home.
which sounds mighty fine to me, now that I think of it...
Scary.
Although going back to academia looks like it wouldn't be pretty for Condi either. Too many
pissed off anti-Bush coeds on her old campus.
"Asleep at the switch before 9/11" - Condi is just made for an attack ad.

Why can't the candidates be based on their merit? To select her based on her being black and a woman smacks of tokenism, no? Additionally, it's a rather shallow tack to take, thinking surely all blacks or all women, and all black women especially, would necessarily vote for her, as if folks aren't capable of realizing that her capability or not is mutually exclusive from her race and gender.
Screw all this mess - here's the dream ticket.
Obama/Clinton 2008.
That'd be Michele for President and Bill for VP. You get the street cred, the Chicago machine, the gender and racial bonus points, vast swaths of international experience, business acumen....
who's with me?
I would love to see what the second wave feminists ( the ones saying all women voting for Obama are sell-outs and to vote for Hilary because she is a woman) would do with Condi running..I guess they would have to make some adjustments or just shut up..lol
I am so tired and bone-weary lately that I don't give a rat's ass who Weathervane McCain picks.
But I do think it will not help him..I can't verbalize why..I just don't at this point. Perhaps because Condo was a willing participant in the 935 Lies that got us into the Iraq War.
I'd like to see McCain explain it away, how AZ won't celebrate MLK day, with a black woman on his ticket. I think any voter worth their salt would smell that bullshit a mile away.
Sadly, I've thought that before.
Ain't gonna happen. Picking Condi for VP would come across as rank hypocrisy to black voters, and McC and his crew must know that. It would also come across to white voters (and others) as an obvious effort to counterbalance Obama's blackness with some sort of diversity. Anyway, Condi's got about as much charisma as an unwashed sock.
