Shall we?
A bitch caught Bush’s final press conference yesterday and…well, wow.
Umm.
Wow.
Someone is delusional as a motherfucker, punchy and knavish too!
In his final press conference (thank the gods!!) President Bush let us see the real him – a smug, over confident, intellectually lazy and disturbingly dismissive ass who is incapable of regret and resentful of criticism.
The man was in rare form…even for him…and it would have been funny except it wasn’t.
In a performance bursting with insults to our intelligence one particularly insulting attempt to revise history seems to stand out – Bush’s thoughts on the Katrina disaster.
"You know people say the federal response was slow—don't tell me the federal response was slow when there was 30,000 people pulled off roofs right after the storm passed. I remember going to see those helicopter drivers, Coast Guard drivers, to thank them for their courageous efforts to rescue people off roofs—30,000 people were pulled off roofs right after the storm moved through. It's a pretty quick response. Could things have been done better? Absolutely. Absolutely. But when I hear people say, 'The federal response was slow'—what are they going to say to those chopper drivers, or the 30,000 that got pulled off the roofs?"
Blink.
Cough.
That rant was delivered with aggressive damn near bully-ish body language that reinforced his seemingly sociopathic inability to grasp why people are upset about the federal response to Hurricane Katrina.
Ugh.
As tempting as it is to dismiss all things Bush now that the long national nightmare that was his presidency is set to end, a bitch just can’t.
This final press conference was a window into the real…a view of the actor off script and, just as we suspected, the man is pure unadulterated fubar in human form.
And we must remember that...even as we begin the process of cleaning up all the shit left behind.
Mercy.

I heard that in the car last night... damn near had to pull over to contain my rage. Revisionist doesn't even begin to cover it.
Good riddance...
Tell all the people who died in those very same homes, that couldn't make it to the roof that the response was not slow, and all those people who were not strong enough to survive on the roof that the response was not slow. Yeah if you just focus on getting the folks off the roof you might make an argument that the response was the best you could do, but what about the people in the stadium and on the bridge... I guess they were "safe"! You know your mama said it too... let the doorknob hit yah...
I'm not a violent man, but every time I see that MF smirk in the middle of some shit he oughtta be takin real serious I just want to smack the shit out of him. . . the way you would a punk ass bully who has terrorized all the little kids on a playground.
Take Peace ABB...he's gone...though his scent will linger, he is gone.
Just remember, like Franklin Pierce (14th Pres; Barbara Bush's direct ancestor, and horrible civil war starting bastard) Dubya will one day be erased from the face of the planet. As long as we do our best to remember and record a people's history, his actions will not be forgotten...of course, this will NEVER stop future generations from making similar mistakes...
Be happy. He is gone. Now, stop JEB from stealing a presidential seat and we're golden!
Pace, pace mia bella
1) although a comment in the previous post made me laugh, the case of Danforth Quayle v. dishwashing is an issue of individual gumption, not race.
2) I was okay with President Bush's press conference up to when he said he planned to write a book. Almost got an asthma attack laughing over that one.
AMEN! As I wrote on my blog, did he forget we were watching all of this? Hang tight people. Only one more week to go.
The worst part for me is when he responded the first time to the Katrina question and started discussing whether he should have done a photo op in New Orleans.
His whole discussion was about mistakes of presentation, not mistakes of underlying strategy. "We shouldn't have had a banner." "Not having weapons of mass destruction was a disappointment." What an idiot.
Thank you, Shark-fu, for the best short description of the current president ever offered.
Thank goodness our new president is not an idiot. I don't have to agree with him all the time, but at least he is a thoughtful and reflective person.
Amen!

I heard that mess and couldnt belive my ears.
Delusional as a mother fucker is right! Who wants to help move his aZZ out of our house?
If memory serves me...the Coast Guard never received any orders to act because our commander in chief was unaware and having birthday cake with McCain....they acted without orders ...they did their best with what they had handy.
Rachel Maddow took the Katrina comments apart to good effect in her "Lame Duck Watch". W's lies are easier to cope with when taken with video evidence of their falseness, to me anyway. She had another gem concerning The Bush Legacy also: It seems that there have been protests about the inscription under his presidential portrait, so the Smithsonian is changing it. It's too late to change the real mistakes he won't admit to having made, so I guess let's just get to undoing the damage...

"chopper drivers"? Really? He claims to BE a pilot but doesn't know when to use the word?
ABB and all who read this blog- have you all read this article called The Man Who Sold The War. It first appeared in Rolling Stone in 2006. I caught up with it in a book called the best american magazine writing 2006. It speaks about John Rendon. Who is the guy who ran the "marketing" campaigns for all the wars the US has been in since the invasion of Panama. It is sickening. Talk about arrogance, manipulation, socio-pathic behavior. This guy should be put away for what he has done. I urge everyone to get ahold of this document because it speaks to everything we already knew but are in this phychos own words. It is amazing that he and Bush and all the others still don't get that they are participating in mass murder. They are planning it and selling it as security. May god forgive them for what they have done. I am not even a religious person but may God forgive them. I hope Prez. O stays clear of this man.
Please. Say it like it is. The man is not delusional. The man is a psychopath!
Hey ABB,
You never commented on the gay community blaming blacks for Prop 8's passage. What do you think about that?
P.S. On my list, you're the top blogger in the world!
Speak it Sista!!!!
I flipped out on the Katrina portion as well. Even though I am sick as the proverbial dog, I had to rant about The Shrub's bullshittery on this topic.
May Gawd have mercy on his soul...because there is no way anyone living through that nightmare could ever forgive that bastard.
Wes over at Swish Embassy sent me your way.
Girl, I've got a few things to say:
1. I couldn't agree with you more.
2. I LOVE your vocabulary. You make me want to read a dictionary.
3. Your writing flow and style is unparalleled. Kudos.
Consider yourself blogrolled.

He is the consummate alcoholic. He isn't responsible and his memory is predicated upon the wistful delusions of a born again fuck up who has never had to take responsibility for his failures in life.
For the first time in Bush's life, someone other than his father, or his father's friends will have to make amends for his failures.
I think dodging those shoes shook Bush up, after all. Hence the grasp for redemption with the press conference and Thursday's little frolic through delusional memory lane---he really wants his last 15 minutes on the world stage to redeem the last 8 years.
And anyone with a modem and a healthy relationship with facts know he will never be redeemed.
