Say it ain’t so, Joe…

Joe McCain, Senator John McCain’s brother, apparently thinks Northern Virginia is “communist country”.

Mmmhmmm, Joe McCain sorta-joked that Arlington and Alexandria are hot beds of communist activity…lousy with communists…the home base of a bunch of Raymond Shaws (who are the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human beings I've ever known in my life).

Blink.

The McCain camp is getting their McCarthyism on with the good folks of Northern Virginia?

Daaaaamn.

So, is this a tactic or the entire strategy?

Y'know, a few years ago this wouldn't really have bothered me. Haha, they call people commies. Ooooh, red scare. Yeah whatever. (In fact, I'll be calling up my brother who lives in Arlington and letting him know to watch out for the Commies in his neighborhood, hahaha.)

But since then, I've seen 50's and 60's educational films which described the structure of US government -- and were also crammed with paranoid diatribes about the cunning disguises of godless socialism threatening the fabric of our society. That's the shit John and Joe were raised on (and they actually might be too old to have seen the films but I have no doubt the sentiment was omnipresent in society at the time). And while I will still laugh at the notion of socialist plots lurking in our nation's capital's suburbs, I'm also disturbed because I know a big chunk of the country BELIEVES that. I wish it was part of our past instead of something some people hold on to.

The police in Fairfax County are communists, I spent 28 weeks there and glad they never stopped me.

Virginia is known for its large population of commies.

Or is that Georgia? Which one used to be part of the Soviet Union???? I forget.....

I hope Joe McCain makes more public appearances. I like him.

Wow, i've been living here for 10 years and I had no idea I was a communist. Darn, I just wish they had told me, i would have worked harder at trying to over throw and brainwash. Now, i'm behind, gotta go recruit some DC and Maryland non-communist.

Good looking out John Boy.

I live in a city with two parks named after local communists.

If that keeps the McCains from visiting Winnipeg ... Hooray!

It's sad that these guys won't go down with some grace and dignity, butthe corpo-fascists aren't about to be gracious in defeat. It'll get really, really ugly in the next few weeks.
I look for lots of fear mongering to emerge very soon.

What? Virginia? Hell, that place is a hotbed of Republicans.

I guess their strategy now is just to insult voters, voters that would have probably voted for them, too. Way to shoot yourself in the foot!
